Tours of Worcester Cathedral
Looking for something to do on a Day Out?

• We offer historical tours of Worcester Cathedral that can be prebooked all year round and tailored to your own requirements. Contact us at the Cathedral Chapter office to discuss arrangements and request a booking form.
• Alternatively you are can simply Turn up for a Tour at 11am and 2.30pm, Monday to Saturday from April until the end of November or from December to March on Saturday's only at the same times. Meet your guide outside our shop in the Cloister.

• Unguided Groups are welcome to visit the cathedral, however we recommend prebooking as we have lots of services and events happening throughout the week, many of which are unpublished and that may restrict your visit or that you may want to be aware of. We can advise you of the best time to visit and also offer you the opportunity to prebook refreshments for your group.

• For something special consider a private tour of our ancient Library, which can be arranged by prior appointment only. The historical library has one of the world's most important collections of medieval books and music.
• For a day out with a difference we can offer bespoke tours of the Bell tower, including a Battle of Worcester 1651 talk from the top; Upper Reaches (Behind the scenes); or of our working Mason's yard. Prices for these tours are on request, again contact us at the Chapter office.
• Parish and Diocesan groups will be interested to know that we can offer an away day pilgrimage to the Cathedral. A typical visit could include a short service, for example in the Crypt or Lady Chapel, a spiritual tour of the Cathedral and lunch or afternoon tea in the chapter house. Please contact the Chapter office to discuss your day out here and the costs.

Charges -Turn up for a Tour
Turn up for a Tour for adults in 2013 costs just £4.00 per person (accompanied children are free) and can be paid for at the Cathedral Shop in the cloister. 

A Cathedral guide will conduct a general historical guided tour of the Cathedral at the times and dates mentioned above. Turn up for a Tour' tours last an hour.

Occasionally Turn up for a Tour may have to be cancelled due to an event in the Cathedral, if you are making a special visit please visit our homepage and contact the Cathedral Chapter office to check during the week of your visit. 

Charges - Historical Tours for Groups 
Prebooked historical tours of the Cathedral for groups in 2013 cost £5.00 for adults and £4.50 for concessions. Payment can be by invoice or on the day in the shop.

If you wish to bring a group to Worcester Cathedral, our trained experienced guides can provide general or specialist tours. Tours can be tailored to your requirements. 
Prebooked historical tours for groups generally last 1 hour or 1 and a half hours, to suit the group.

Our specialist prebooked historical tours for groups can have a requested theme to them:
Cathedral Architecture, The Civil War, The Cathedral Monuments, The Victorian stained glass windows, Cathedral Music, The Missericords & Famous People such as King John, Prince Arthur, Sir Edward Elgar, Sir Stanley Baldwin, Woodbine Willie, The Duke of Hamilton, St Wulfstan & St Oswald, to name but a few. If you would like a specialist subject please remember to request this prior to booking as it will be subject to our specialist guides being available.

Charges - Unguided Group Visits
£4.00 per person for adults. Included in this cost is a free Walk Around Guide
